A verdict not fair!

But, today (14 June 2010) while having breakfast when I opened the newspaper and turned to page 3, I knew I would write. Not for anyone, but for myself, to vent out my anger and frustration to reduce the cynicism in me, to outdo the cynic in me!
On Page 3 was the picture of an old man touching a collage of pictures of the victims of the Uphaar tragedy, a story that completed 13 years yesterday. It was Friday, the day the patriotic film Border, released, and for a film buff the concept of first day show is somehow very exciting. But, for 59 movie buffs, it was the last film of their lives, for the other 103, the physical injury must have seriously injured their love for cinema. They say bygones are bygones, we all should move on. But this tale of 13 June 1997 is as alive today as it was then because even in times of inflation the cost of human life is the cheapest and the murderers are alive, free and away. While the families of the deceased fight for justice, justice is nowhere in sight. Human life should not be compared, but for some it is absolutely free, the verdict, the criminals (yes they were proven guilty) were awarded a sentence of 2 years each and later reduced to a year and a half and a country of a billion could not keep them behind bars for even 547 days and they were released on bail.
Yesterday was the 13th Anniversary, but this is not all that the last week saw, we also heard the verdict of the Bhopal Gas Tragedy and it was no better.
